Excellence in Eye Care
We specialize in a wide range of refractive and ophthalmic treatments, including IPCL.

IPCL

stands for Implantable Phakic Contact Lens (also called Implantable Collamer Lens in some contexts). It is a type of phakic intraocular lens (PIOL) that is surgically implanted inside the eye to correct refractive errors like myopia (short-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), and astigmatism.

How IPCL Works
It is placed behind the iris (colored part of the eye) and in front of the natural lens.

Unlike LASIK or SMILE, no corneal tissue is removed.

The natural lens remains intact, so the eye retains its ability to accommodate (focus).

Who is it for
- People with high refractive errors who are not suitable for LASIK or SMILE.

- Patients with thin corneas or dry eye issues.

- Typically for younger patients (since cataract surgery will be needed later in life).

Advantages
- Reversible (the lens can be removed or replaced).
- Provides high-quality vision.
- Suitable for high prescriptions.
- Quick recovery and UV protection in some lenses.
- Risks / Considerations
- Requires surgical implantation (inside the eye).
